“As Speaker of the House, Margaret Anderson Kelliher has a tremendous amount of power and influence over the next legislative session. The special interests know this and are looking for any way to get on her good side to advance their cause. She won’t resign her post as Speaker because she uses the position of legislative gate keeper to extract campaign funds and favors.

“This week it appears Kelliher got caught earmarking a contribution from a special interest to the DFL Party on behalf of her campaign in an effort to get around campaign finance laws regulating donations from large donors and lobbyists. Let’s call this what it is – political corruption. Speaker Kelliher needs to hand in her gavel while she’s running for governor – the opportunities for corruption are only going to multiply as we get closer to the legislative session.”
