Tom Emmer won another straw poll on Saturday, gaining 51.4% of the vote after a candidate forum in Sibley County attended by all of the Republican gubernatorial candidates. David Hann and Marty Siefert finished tied for a distant second with each receiving 13.5% of the vote. Emmer also won recent straw polls conducted by Senate District 32, UMD College Republicans, and the Twin Cities Republican Association.
“These straw poll victories show that our message is connecting with Republican activists – they understand the importance of having a strong fiscal conservative governor to deal with the state’s budget over the next four years,” said Emmer. “We are building strong momentum for the February precinct caucuses.”
