]]>This election season has focused on one central theme: jobs. This is deservedly so, as our state and our nation are currently in the midst of the deepest, longest-lasting recession since the Great Depression. As Minnesotans, we can be thankful that we have not suffered unemployment to the extent that other states have. However, Tuesday’s election presents a clear and distinct choice in how we move forward and grow our way to a more successful Minnesota.
My husband, Keith Schwartzwald, and I recently had the opportunity to host one of the candidates vying to be part of the leadership team that will shape the direction of Minnesota, Republican lieutenant governor candidate Annette Meeks. Tom Emmer and Meeks have spent the past six months campaigning together on a call to improve Minnesota’s business climate to make our state more attractive for job growth and expansion.

]]>A new KSTP/SurveyUSA poll shows Republican Tom Emmer and DFLer Mark Dayton in a dead heat in the race for governor.
Released Thursday, the poll results show Dayton with a razor-thin, one-point lead of 39 to 38 percent. Independence Party candidate Tom Horner sits at 13 percent.
The poll's margin of error is plus or minus four percent. It includes two percent more Republicans than Democrats, which is consistent with national polling.

]]>In the final days before Election Day, FOX 9 sat down for a one-on-one for Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer.
To make sure voters have more accurate and statistically reliable information about the Minnesota Governor’s race, the Emmer Campaign today is releasing results from its own internal poll conducted on October 24th and 25th by Public Opinion Strategies. The poll of 500 likely voters shows the race for Governor tied: Dayton 40, Emmer 40, Horner 13. The poll has margin of error ±4.38% and is more in line with recent results from Survey USA and Rasmussen and in stark contrast to the ridiculous polling done by the Star Tribune and MPR.

Republican governor candidate Tom Emmer credits his wife, Jacquie, for finding the rental unit, which he called a great value to the campaign. As she boiled water in the microwave oven for a cup of coffee, the couple made it clear they enjoy the RV lifestyle.

]]>Election day is just one week from tomorrow and with that comes some big endorsements for gubernatorial candidates.
“That candidate in this race is unquestionably Tom Emmer,” said Governor Tim Pawlenty.

“Over the last sixteen months Tom Emmer has worked tirelessly to connect with Minnesotans from throughout this great state as he’s campaigned for governor,” said Cullen Sheehan. “He has spread a vision of government living within its means and spurring economic growth to put Minnesotans back to work. These fundraising totals affirm that his vision for Minnesota is one that resonates.”
The fundraising total includes over $2 million from individual contributors in 2010. The campaign has collected $2.69 million in 2010 and $114,802 in 2009. The report will show $461,152 cash on hand.

]]>Agonizing pain overwhelmed Tom Emmer’s 38-year-old sister as she lie in bed, but she was too weak to get up.
So Emmer moved her legs over the side of the bed, lifted her up and moved her around the room to keep her as comfortable as the woman dying of cancer could be.
“I literally slow danced with my sister as she died,” Minnesota’s Republican governor candidate recalled about those days nearly 11 years ago.
