The Tom Emmer for Governor Campaign announced today a fundraising event headlined by former Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Newt Gingrich. The event will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2010.
Gingrich was elected to the US House of Representatives in 1978 and re-elected 10 times, eventually serving as the Speaker from 1995-1999. As a co-author of the 1994 Contract with America he helped end 40 years of Democrat majorities in the U.S. House. A Time Magazine “Person of the Year,” New York Times best-selling author, and leading political analyst, Newt Gingrich is one of the premiere conservative thought leaders in the nation.
Governor Tim Pawlenty, Congressman John Kline, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and Congressman Erik Paulsen are co-hosts of this event.
This fundraiser is shortly after an appearance by Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal to help Tom Emmer’s efforts in running against a wealthy self-financed Democrat opponent.
